Business Review

What impressed me most about Drip House Coffee Co. wasn't just the coffee — it was the vision behind the shop.

I had the chance to speak with Gus who shared with me the vision behind the storefront coffee shop, and I walked away genuinely excited about what this new Bakersfield business could become for local families. He shared plans to create monthly events centered not only around fun, but around bringing the community together and helping people who may need a little extra support.

One idea he shared was an Operation Christmas-style event where families could choose a child's letter to Santa and help fulfill Christmas wishes. He also talked about creating inclusive events where children with disabilities can participate, be welcomed and be celebrated.

And you can already see pieces of that community-centered vision taking shape. There's a growing community garden with plans to share fresh produce, along with a little community library/book exchange on the patio where visitors are welcome to donate a book or take one home.

Those details really stood out to me. They're small things individually, but together they say something about the kind of space Drip House hopes to create — a neighborhood coffee shop where families don't just stop for a drink, but feel like they're part of a community.

Drip House Coffee Co. is still a new business, and I'm excited to see how that vision grows.

Their Grand Opening is planned for September 26, 2026, at 6pm with a ribbon cutting and baked goods for the community to enjoy. If you're a Bakersfield family who loves discovering and supporting local businesses, this is one I'd keep on your radar.
