Kids can run through the water features, hit the playground, or enjoy the open grassy areas, while families can make a day of it with a picnic under the park's mature trees.
Beyond the splash fun, Jastro Park offers plenty of recreation for older kids and adults too, including tennis, pickleball and basketball courts. The park also features picnic areas, BBQs, restrooms, an outdoor ampitheater and veterans memorials.

My daughter and I have enjoyed Jastro Park a few times, especially on those hot Bakersfield days! She was a little hesitant of the spray park and afraid of some of the water at first, but we still had fun exploring, playing, and cooling off together. I like that kids can approach the water at their own comfort level -- and when they need a break from splashing, there's plenty of park space to enjoy too. A fun, FREE way to beat the Bakersfield heat!
